“Aleon is the first song we wrote together when our drummer Campbell joined the band, named after the street in which we held our rehearsals and spent a lot of our time bonding. It’s a song about dealing with and recovering from depression. It’s about having dark thoughts that feel totally out-of-character, coupled with a desperate desire to break free of those thoughts. Many people in the music industry have dealt with depression either first or second-hand; including members of this band. Aleon is a fitting tribute to those who have overcome their struggles, as well as a message of hope for all those who are still struggling.”
- Dan

These thoughts are not me
Yet they exist
It should be easy
Yet I find my will caving
And I find each day
My faith is straying
Every hour gets heavier
Every breath draws heavier
Every word is heavier
‘Cause even words weigh down

Drawn from the stare
As empty as the gaze they keep
Why should they care?
Self-reliance seems a step too steep
And I find each hour
Save these slow candles
Time seems to ask me
“Do you want another day?”
Do you want another day?

Stand by my side
Feel my heart reaching
Read into those quiet times
Lest you mistake the silence

Can’t escape from inside my own head
Can’t escape until these thoughts are laid to rest
Tame every tale that will manifest
We’ve got our own truth, own stories
Don’t forget
I can’t escape from inside my own head
Got our own stories, own truth
Don’t forget.
